Lavrov: “Serious people have long understood that Crimea is Russian”
Only those who are not aimed at constructive dialogue and are pursuing a custom-made anti-Russian agenda continue to dispute the ownership of Russian Crimea on the world stage.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this during a meeting of the Federation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“To not understand that Crimea is Russia, and that all three decades when Crimea, by the will of fate and against the wishes of its inhabitants, was outside the Russian Federation, that it was an anomaly, means not understanding anything in history.
I will not talk about my discussions on this topic with my colleagues, but I dare to assure you that serious people understood everything long ago, and the continuation, the throwing of this Crimean card into the rhetoric that some of our Western colleagues are fond of, means only one thing - that they are charged solely an obsession with containing the Russian Federation, and they simply do not have more reasonable and adequate arguments that could even be slightly perceived as a pretext for a serious conversation,” the head of the foreign policy department concluded.
