Lavrov avoided answering the question whether Russia will occupy the entire Zaporozhye region
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov did not answer a question from a schoolchild who asked whether the referendum on joining Russia would be held only in the liberated areas of the Zaporozhye region or throughout its entire territory.
The question was raised as part of the marathon of the Russian Society “Knowledge,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have said more than once that we want to achieve the goals of the Northern Military District, which are to eliminate threats to the Russians and Russian-speaking population of Donbass, the republics that we have recognized. Eliminating the threats of Nazism is the goal of denazification. And the demilitarization of Ukraine, so that threats to the security of the Russian Federation are not projected from the territory of this country. These tasks are solved sequentially. And the fate of those territories that we liberate from the neo-Nazi regime will be decided by those people who live there,” Lavrov said.
