Lavrov: Zelensky need not worry for now
The President of Ukraine may not worry about the fact that the West is negotiating with Russia behind Kyiv’s back (Vladimir Zelensky recently made such a statement).
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this today at a joint press conference with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Mr. Zelensky doesn’t need to worry. So far, to our great regret, neither the USA, nor Germany, nor France have seriously influenced it. But I hope that they will understand the deadlock of the current line and will do everything necessary so that their words about the lack of alternatives to the Minsk agreements and the fact that they imply a special status for Donbass do not remain on paper. We were promised all this,” Lavrov said.
He believes that Western countries are behaving incorrectly in connection with the conflict in Donbass.
“It’s a little incorrect to speak out like that when all our Western partners do is emphasize the need to implement the Minsk agreements and call on Russia to do this, essentially shielding the Ukrainian regime and not noticing the responsibility that lies with it,” Lavrov said .
Thank you!
