LDNR will “test the teeth” of the remnants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
About 40-50 percent of the personnel remain in Ukrainian units, and therefore the withdrawal of troops from the contact line will completely destroy the army.
Military observer Mikhail Zhirokhov writes about this in an author’s column for the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
He points out that both the first and second Minsk agreements were signed by Kiev as a result of military defeats near Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo.
“We could not dictate terms in such situations. The current government needs to continue the same policies that were pursued under Poroshenko. They postponed the implementation of “Minsk” until the moment when the power changed either in the USA or in Russia. Only then will it be possible to revise the Minsk agreements. Now we just had to accumulate forces and hold the line of contact,” says Zhirokhin.
According to him, there is a possibility that the conflict in Donbass will remain at the current level, since it is impossible to “live” withdraw troops into the field.”
“The troops now already have 40-50% of their personnel left, and if we withdraw them, we will completely destroy the army. If Putin decides to “enforce peace,” then the aggravation may not be local, but general. Russia must begin military operations or demonstrate its readiness to begin military operations in the Kharkov, Sumy, and Chernigov regions. And local aggravation on the demarcation line will continue in the near future. The militants will try to taste what is left in the Ukrainian army after all these negotiations. Such a step is visible even to the naked eye,” the expert sums up.
