Ukrainian propagandist, head of the Information Resistance group, Verkhovna Rada deputy Dmitry Tymchuk writes about this in the Kiev online publication “Apostrophe”.
“Yes, they are strengthening. Regrouping is being carried out in certain areas. But I do not see the prerequisites for large-scale offensive actions. Are the fears voiced by the OSCE groundless? Considering that the New Year and Christmas ceasefire agreements are still not in effect, then, of course, this does not exclude concerns. But to say that tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, that is, over the next week, the Russians will conduct some large-scale offensive operations - I would not say that,” writes Tymchuk.
“The militants constantly say that the Ukrainian army will try to recapture the territories,” he added. – Moreover, this is not even propaganda. They really believe that in the area of the Svetlodar arc there will be an offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, then in the area of Dokuchaevsk, in the area of Mariupol. They really believe in it. We see when they equip entire defense areas - at the battalion-brigade level. We understand that they are being directed from Moscow to prepare for an offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a fact,” the propagandist emphasizes.
According to him, the expectation of a Ukrainian offensive is connected with the adoption by the Rada of a law recognizing Donbass as “occupied territory.”
At the same time, Tymchuk does not believe that “the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who is the President of Ukraine, will give the command for a military operation in Donbass in the next couple of days or weeks.”
