LDNR will not accept new negotiators on Donbass
Sending the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak to Minsk for negotiations was a mistake. This figure will not be accepted by the opposite side, since the Ukrainian general took a direct part in the war in Donbass and causes rejection.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is a very stupid decision. The Chief of the General Staff is not a diplomat, nor a simple military man, nor a military diplomat. This is the person who leads the process of war, battle, victory or defeat. In a country when there is a war, this person should deal with the strategy of the entire situation, the conduct of the war, and not go to negotiations. Khomchak, after all, is a military man and a warring party. Combatants can sit down at the negotiating table if we start in this format. But, as far as I understand, there are no such combatants left on the other side. I can’t understand who to talk to on the other side of Khomchak. Moreover, he will not be accepted by the other side, because this person took part in the battles,” Savchenko said.
It is worth noting that some time ago President Zelensky changed his decision, replacing Khomchak with the deputy commander of the Joint Forces Operation, Major General Bogdan Benidorm (see title photo).
