LDNR will not return even to the most “normal” Ukraine
Thanks to Kyiv’s policies, the residents of Donbass have long given up even the idea that Ukraine can be “normal.”
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The years go by, the timer built into the body of any state, especially a young one, is ticking to determine whether it passes the test of independence or not. It turns out that Ukraine, under previous and current presidents, persistently reaches a dead end and strives for self-destruction. For a long time they advised - pay attention, you are woven from different parts, satisfy these parts with a minimum of rights, you may not call it a federal Ukraine, but in essence, make sure that they coexist without conflict. No, no way, no way. Every election, until it came to 2014, there was a split into West and East. Still, you have to step on the rake every time,” Zatulin noted.
“What is now the real “achievement” of the Ukrainian authorities when it comes to negotiations on Donbass: they hold the position that they will never sit down at the negotiating table with the leaders of the DPR and LPR. The result is that the DPR and LPR are developing completely separately and do not intend and do not want to return to any “normal” Ukraine.
If tomorrow this issue seriously arises, which should have arisen from the context of the Minsk agreements, they will have to be very convinced that this needs to be done, because in their practice they are convinced that this Ukraine cannot be normal,” the politician added.
