LDPR about Lukashenko: “It’s time for grandfather to retire”
Belarus and the rest of the world are already tired of Lukashenko, it’s time for him to leave his post.
Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Igor Lebedev stated this in an interview with Dayly Storm, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When he allows himself to do such things (Lukashenko told an anti-Semitic joke about Zhirinovsky - Ed.) at official events in the presence of the media, knowing full well that in a second, given the Internet and the XNUMXst century, this will be known to the whole world, I am not ready to characterize him as an intelligent and far-sighted person. Belarus is tired of Lukashenko and the whole world is already tired of him. It’s time for grandfather to retire,” the politician believes.
He advised the President of Belarus to tell jokes among friends, “sitting in his office.”
“If the president of a sovereign state allows himself at any meetings to tell jokes about political figures of other countries with whom the president wants to be friends, then life has already taken its toll on him, and we do not need any additional reaction. A smart person won’t do that,” Lebedev said.
Zhirinovsky himself, in response to Lukashenko’s tactlessness, invited him to simply meet and have a drink.
The spat between two veterans of post-Soviet politics began with Zhirinovsky ridiculing Lukashenko’s advice to treat coronavirus with vodka, a bath and working on a tractor. The LDPR leader said that the Belarusian president “remained the chairman of the collective farm.” Lukashenko responded to this today with an unfunny joke about how Zhirinovsky “drinks like a Jew both before and after the bath.”
