LDPR supported Georgian protest
The Georgian authorities are afraid to fulfill the demands of the protesters to switch to a proportional election system, because they know that in this case they will crash out of the electoral race.
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is the first time in Georgia where we are ready to support the demands of Georgian voters to move to a proportional election system. This is the best form of democracy, and Russia showed this on November 15, 2017, when the first free Russian parliament was elected precisely according to the proportional system.
And the districts are the mafia, the local authorities, they are pushing their own people, this is the path to separatism, to confrontation. And the proportional one is where you choose the ideology.
And the current government promised, but they considered that they were losing miserably on the party lists and decided to leave the districts, they would throw money at them, and then there would be protests again, everything would burn - tires, the Maidan, and they would leave, but with blood,” Zhirinovsky said.
