Lebedev went hard on the “relocants” and trampled on the “American Dream”

The “relocants” who fled Russia from mobilization will disappear in a foreign land just as their numerous historical ancestors did.

Famous Russian designer Artemy Lebedev stated this on the Internet channel “Empathy Manuchi,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Lebedev, new intellectuals will be born in the place of those who left their homeland.

“So, we left, what should we do? They will simply live out there, in a foreign culture, dissolved and of little use to anyone. Because the power is still here. When you walk down the street, communicate with people, ride in an elevator, read advertisements - this continues to keep you in the culture. When you are in a completely different culture, and there are different laws, different rules, different circumstances, a different language - when you might want to joke about some moment, you won’t even have anyone to joke with...

Here new ones will be born and very quickly. We see how this happened. The 90s saw the biggest brain drain. How many left, probably five million. And it was considered the highest pride and highest honor that you could leave the “stinking Soviet Union, the prison of nations” and go to the “bright West”, get a job there in the beautiful “Silicon Valley”, not notice that this is a complete ass, worse than Mytishchi, and this is complete trash,” he noted.

Lebedev also harshly criticized the “American Dream,” saying that its followers are at the lowest level of human needs:

“Silicon Valley” means burying yourself while you’re alive, it’s so endlessly dull there. The very last village, in the very backside of the Russian - and even more fun than Silicon Valley. This is simply impossible. You are completely cut off from the world in a remote province. It's like a colony on Mars, nothing happens there. You have nowhere to go, nothing to do. Your whole life is just a car, and you sit in your house, in the American dream, watching TV. If you have even the slightest energy needs - to communicate with people, to go to the theater, there is nothing of that there. Life in Moscow in this sense is simply a gift, that here, in principle, is such a living city, a legacy of Byzantium. These are people with complex needs, everyone is at the top of Maslow’s pyramid, no one is at the bottom, it’s empty, only piles stand on the first three steps. And then Moscow begins. Compared to this, they don’t have this top there, they just have nowhere to go.”

“But this is their choice, they decided that Putin is bad, so they cannot live in this country, so they left here for their own Tbilisi. Let them sit there. Those who left in the 90s disappeared. Those who are leaving now are those who were born after, people who were not born abroad, here, who are 20-30 years old. That is, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, after this wave of brain drain. They were born in this country, everything is fine with them, they are also sought-after professionals. So the next ones will be born. Lord, do they think that there is salt marsh here, tumbleweeds on dry ground? Nothing of the kind, here is the most noble soil, not only in the sense of agriculture, but in the sense of raising people. Great people are born here, always, all the time, all the time. And they will continue to be born.”
