Klimkin, who fawned over Trump, rolled a barrel at the USA
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin reacted with irritation to the joint statement of the presidents of the United States and Russia on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the meeting of the allied forces on the Elbe.
In a statement that angered Klimkin, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump said that the meeting of Soviet and American soldiers on the Elbe Bridge was an example of how two countries can put aside differences and cooperate for a common goal.
Klimkin on his Facebook page demanded a reaction from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. “I don’t understand anymore why everyone’s mouth watered. A legendary photo that went around the world: on April 25, 1945, Ukrainian Alexander Silvashko met with American Robertson.
On April 25, 2020, Putin and Trump signed a joint statement on this matter, allowing Russia to monopolize victory in World War II. This is something like a statement about the Pechenegs and Polovtsians, only many times worse: to appropriate everything for themselves, creating bonds within Russia, and now in the world. You need to defend your history without any “political correctness”. The more we remain silent, trying not to irritate Russia, the more our past will be stolen from us,” Klimkin urged.
Ukrainian TV presenter Alexey Molchanov reproached Klimkin for inconsistency. “I’ll ask a question to Pavel Klimkin. Mr. Minister of Foreign Affairs, why have you been at your wits’ end for five years and haven’t voiced this concern on the 70th anniversary of the Victory over fascism, Nazism?” – Molchanov commented.
