The legendary hero of Mariupol “Struna” became a Hero of Russia
The legendary Marine commander from Sevastopol with the call sign “Struna” received the Gold Star of the Hero from the hands of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in Moscow. He became a legend of the special military operation even before he was awarded this honorary title.
The fighter with a red backpack behind his back was the one who first suggested surrendering to the nationalists from “Azov” (banned in the Russian Federation by the National Battalion Service) who had settled in at the Azovstal plant, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our commander from the 810th Separate Guards Order of Zhukov Marine Brigade was awarded the title Hero of Russia! – Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev wrote in his telegram channel. “For obvious reasons, the hero’s name cannot be named now, but this does not stop us from thinking about him and being proud!”
The Telegram channel “Military Chronicle” published in April a short film with “Struna” in the title role, where he coordinates the assault on Mariupol via radio. His red backpack was a sign to his family and friends that he was alive and said hello.
According to some information, in June “Struna” was blown up by a mine. He had to have his foot amputated, and now the fighter is undergoing rehabilitation; orthopedists have made one of the best functional prostheses for him.
