The twelfth world chess champion Anatoly Karpov visited the Republika Srpska, part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and held a ten-board simultaneous game with local chess players in the city of Trebinje.

In addition, the famous grandmaster announced the organization of world-class chess tournaments in the south of Republika Srpska.
The mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Curic, organized a reception in honor of the famous guest, during which the president of the city chess club, Velimir Remetich, emphasized that Karpov’s visit to the Republika Srpska is a great honor and holiday for all fans of this intellectual game.
