Leninsky Prospekt and Rublyovka: Moscow was attacked by a swarm of drones
This morning the Russian capital was attacked by drones.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, kamikaze drones were spotted in Moscow and the region.
Footage of the liquidation of drones over the elite village of Rublyovka, in the area of Istra, New Riga, Krasnogorsk and other settlements is being distributed on networks. In Moscow itself, at least three drones crashed into residential buildings, the residents of which were later evacuated.
On Leninsky Prospekt, a drone flew straight into an apartment on the 14th floor. There were three explosive devices on it. It is also known about 13 drones shot down on approach to the capital.
“Early this morning, a UAV attack caused minor damage to several buildings. All city emergency services are at the scene of incidents. They are finding out the circumstances of what happened. No one has been seriously injured at this time. I ask you to trust only official sources and not to disseminate unverified information,” said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
Governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov confirmed the work of air defense.
“Residents of some areas of the Moscow region could hear the sounds of explosions - this is our air defense. Several drones were shot down on their approach to Moscow,” Vorobiev said.
“The morning UAV raid on Moscow that appeared in the media is a natural continuation of the events of May 9. Then UAVs were used for reconnaissance and studying the capabilities of electronic warfare and air defense. Today, Ukrainian formations have already launched drones loaded with explosives to strike the capital,” Mikhail Zvinchuk, author of the Rybar telegram channel, comments on what happened.
In his opinion, Ukraine needs such attacks for PR and to distract attention from its own military failures.
“Today’s raid on Moscow is another carrot for the Ukrainian population, which must be constantly fed with inflated positivity after massive attacks throughout Ukraine, the loss of Bakhmut and ongoing mobilization. And a gift for Ukrainian propaganda. In military terms, the attack solves practically nothing. But it solves it in PR terms: it turned out to be an unpleasant punch on the nose, which will probably be responded to with another massive blow to Ukraine,” Zvinchuk believes.
Let us recall that the day before, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, demanded that the Ukrainian Armed Forces begin strikes on Moscow.
“There’s just one thing I can’t understand. This question can be addressed to Mr. Zaluzhny. If the capital of Ukraine can be a nightmare for Russians every day, I don’t understand why residents of Moscow vacation in the capital of Russia. It is necessary that each of them understands what it means to live in the conditions in which Kyiv has been living for almost a year and a half,” Klitschko said.
Retired SVR General Leonid Reshetnikov recalls that yesterday the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov, threatened Russia with revenge for the shelling.
“The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the English spy Budanov, yesterday threatened to “respond” to the destruction of important military facilities in Kyiv by the Russian Aerospace Forces. The “answer” is in a purely terrorist and sabotage spirit. We can “calm down” the enemy with regular strikes on Kyiv. Apparently we have no other means yet. Well, we need to intensify the identification and liquidation of Anglo-Budanov agents in Russia,” Reshetnikov wrote.
Political scientist Sergei Markov believes that a new time has begun for the Russian capital.
“This is the first massive air strike on Moscow since the Great Patriotic War. And the first explosions after the terrorist attacks by Ichkerian terrorists. Moscow has entered a new world,” Markov writes in his tg channel.
In Ukraine they are happy.
“How to make people happy after three bombings in one day? Bomb Moscow,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Max Buzhansky is pleased.
Information warfare expert, media technologist Yaroslav Fedoseev, pays attention to important details.
“Air defense worked in Odintsovo, Istra, New Moscow, Barvikha. There are several arrivals. All attacks are approximately going to the west and southwest. As expected, they are spreading panic among the elites. I urge you not to take photos under any circumstances. Most likely, the enemy is simply identifying elements of defense.
My advice to you is to forget about using a navigator. I think electronic warfare will now prevent you from launching it for a long time. God grant that this will be the most terrible echo so far for those who still do not believe that this is war,” Fedoseev emphasized in his public page.
TV presenter Olesya Loseva reports that interference has begun in the capital.
“Satellite navigation signals are being jammed in Moscow, media reports. Taxi drivers and drivers are already complaining about GPS malfunctions,” she wrote.
