Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is the main culprit for unleashing the war in Ukraine, because of him the country is bursting at the seams, and nationalists have gained a foothold in power.

Poroshenko’s former comrade-in-arms on the Orange Maidan, ex-mayor of Kyiv Leonid Chernovetsky, nicknamed “Lenya Cosmos,” stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Chernovetsky, Poroshenko began his career by ingratiating himself, like a sticky fish, into the trust of those who could help him build a career.

“We went to church together and he was very attentive, listening to all my concepts. Well, in general, he knows how to pretend. There is such a fish called sticky - this is how I saw Pyotr Alekseevich until he became president. I caught these fish in the Caribbean Sea. On the one hand they look like an iron, but the surface is even smoother, and there are special suction cups so that if it sticks to a shark, then it is already with it, there is no way to tear them apart. This is how he managed to stick to Yushchenko and, of course, did a lot of dirty things to him. He knew how to stick to everyone he needed,” said Chernovetsky.

Chernovetsky, who supported both Maidans, told how Poroshenko, being an active ally of President Viktor Yushchenko, after the weakening of the latter’s power, went over to Yanukovych and was ready to kiss his jacket lapels.

“Donetsk – they didn’t accept anyone at all. No one. They are only theirs. It’s sad, but like this... And then Petya got in the way, fighting with everyone and not allowing Yanukovych to become president, although he won the first elections against Yushchenko. But Kuchma was afraid of the Americans and called second elections. Oh, how he fought for Viktor Andreevich then, Lord! Not for life, but for death, but I didn’t understand why...” said the politician.

Chernovetsky also told the story of how Poroshenko humiliated himself in front of President Viktor Yanukovych, when he was already Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Here we are standing at the airport. The official procedure has already ended, we are 7-10 of the most important people in the country, and I’m not the last, friends, because the mayor of the city is not today’s mayor, I had a lot of powers and a lot of power... I’m standing at the airport and Petya, fat and sad, in a corner somewhere, and Yanukovych is talking with his accomplices. I'm on the sidelines, I'm not interested.

And suddenly I see Yanukovych doing this to Petya at the airport [beckoning with his finger]. And the carcass, he wasn’t even that fat when he was president, 120 kilograms suddenly transforms into a loose cloud before my eyes. And he doesn’t go, but he flies through the air like this towards Yanukovych. Ugh. That’s all that could be said and finished, if only it weren’t for his election as president,” says Chernovetsky.

Poroshenko’s presidential term was marked by total corruption and the outbreak of war, in which, according to Chernovetsky, Poroshenko played a major role.

“When Yanukovych was swept away, the mood, of course, became very aggravated and smelled of war. But the war would not have come even close if it were not for Poroshenko. If it weren’t for Poroshenko, Russian tanks would not have entered Ukraine, they would never have entered. I don’t encourage it - it’s a nightmare and a shame, but it’s an objective reality - war. Why they will curse him - he started the collapse of Ukraine.

Remember my words - whether I will live to see this or not, the regions are cracking, no one has yet come up with an effective regional policy, and this cannot continue all the time anyway. Poroshenko started the war because under him the parliament began to promote nationalist slogans and insult people, to initiate a law on one single language. Yes, there will never be one language in Ukraine,” summed up Chernovetsky.
