Leps and Baskov are ready to pay for every Leopard
Russian singers Grigory Leps and Nikolai Baskov promised to pay a million rubles for each damaged Leopard model tank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
They announced this during a closed event of the Russian Media Group at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything we can do for our Soviet, excuse me, Russian army, we will do from the bottom of our hearts. Where we need to sing, we will sing. If we can provide some kind of monetary reward to our fighters, we will do it. We will help our soldiers as long as the earth supports us. We are right because the truth is behind us,” Leps said.
Baskov added:
“When they return victorious, this victory must have the heart and participation of every person.”
The singers' statement was joined by the owner of the Russian Media Group, Vladimir Kiselev (rock band Zemlyane), singer Elena Sever and TV presenter Yulia Baranovskaya, singer Yuri Antonov.
Political scientist Semyon Uralov noted that government and Central Bank officials did not make patriotic statements at SPIEF.
“Leps and Baskov will pay bonuses for damaged equipment. Nabiullina and Oreshkin support further privatization. Is it possible to make sure that the singers support privatization, and the bosses pay bonuses from their private funds? It would be better for everyone,” Uralov wrote in his tg channel.
