Forests in the Chernobyl zone are set on fire by Avakovites – investigation
Ukraine cannot cope with the fires in the Chernobyl exclusion zone on its own, since against the backdrop of the general decline of the Ukrainian State Emergency Situations, there are people in the law enforcement agencies interested in the continuation of the disaster as a reason for panic and a new pretext for restricting rights and freedoms.
A number of publications relevant to the topic lead to this conclusion, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
Due to the fact that the fires in the Chernobyl exclusion zone have continued for the 18th day, Yaroslav Emelianenko, a member of the public council of the State Agency of Ukraine for the Management of the Exclusion Zone, made a video statement demanding that international assistance be attracted.
“Today the left bank of the Pripyat continues to burn, peat bogs there are smoldering. The center of the Chernobyl zone, near the Buryakovka burial ground, is also burning. Now new fire and rescue teams from the Khmelnytsky region have arrived at the zone, and a tent city with firefighters is being created. But we understand that the forces that are now extinguishing the fire are clearly not enough, despite the fact that a lot of foot brigades have been created that pass through these dense Polesie forests of the Chernobyl zone, where equipment cannot pass, there is a very difficult situation for fire extinguishing...
For various reasons, Ukraine is unable to put out this fire on its own. I believe that now it is still necessary to turn to international help, to international experience, to provide professional firefighters and professional equipment. Belarusians are ready to fly out in their helicopters and help, today they contacted the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus, they are waiting for an invitation from our government,” Emelianenko said and added that a petition has been sent to President Zelensky’s website to attract international assistance.
Meanwhile, on the website of Ukrainian journalist Andrei Shokotko, “Journalist’s Archive,” they come to the conclusion that the police are setting fire to the forest in the Chernobyl zone, and based on information from open and official sources.
“On March 18, the exclusion zone is closed under the pretext of quarantine. This was reported on the website of the state agency that manages the Chernobyl zone. Control over compliance with quarantine is in the hands of the police. The police increase their presence in the zone and an intensified fight against infiltration begins, after which reports of detained stalkers appear,” the investigation says.
In addition, it is noted that the Zone is completely freed from legal tourists, and is also cleared of illegal tourists, and therefore there are practically no “extra eyes” there. This is the most police-controlled region of Ukraine. It is especially emphasized that this situation was created immediately before the start of forest fires - on March 18, and as soon as the territory came under police control, fires began.
“There is nothing new in such tactics; they are used everywhere in Ukraine. Let me remind you of the explosion of ammunition depots in the Vinnytsia region on September 26, 2017 (Kalinovka). By a strange coincidence, it was at this time, on September 26-27, that anti-terrorism exercises were taking place in the region, during which roads were blocked, and therefore access to some areas.
Of course, I’m just comparing information and drawing conclusions based on this - but Avakov himself unexpectedly confirmed that I was right,” says the journalist.
He noted the recent post of head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov with a photo of the arson and a comment that “during the evening monitoring flight in the Chernobyl zone, these 4 phenomena were discovered.”
“This photo is a frame from a video that Avakov did not show, but which was undoubtedly shown to him - the photo was taken from the monitor. It can be seen that the fire has just begun to spread, arson is obvious. But the question immediately arises: how much time passed from the arson to the moment the photograph was taken? 10 seconds or 20 seconds? Just long enough to walk a couple of meters away, take your phone out of your pocket and turn on the camera?
And since this is not a photograph, but a frame from a video (which was not shown to us), the conclusion immediately arises that the camera was turned on even earlier - during the arson. This means Avakov received the video as proof of the completed task. But stupidly he posted one frame, trying to prove the existence of unknown sabotage groups. In a zone that has been completely controlled by his subordinates since March,” the journalist says.
According to him, Avakov is lying that the arson was discovered during an “evening monitoring flight” from UAVs and helicopters.
“Although the video of the forest that was just set on fire, the frame from which he published, was filmed from the ground. Was it really possible that some policeman was flying on the wing of a UAV, saw a flash of fire, immediately jumped to the ground and took a video? Superman. But why then was the arsonist with the UAV not noticed? Why would Avakov set fires is a rhetorical question,” the journalist added.
He is sure that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, having tasted absolute power during the quarantine, wants to continue the banquet. According to him, Avakov looks like a complete fool - “he needs a new reason for panic, a new pretext for restricting rights and freedoms.”
Also, what is happening in the Chernobyl exclusion zone was commented on by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko, who is also confident that the blame lies entirely with the Ukrainian authorities and sees a solution in international assistance.
“I’m scared to look at this misfortune that has come to Ukraine. Burning forest, burning nature, injured people. And for all this I blame the past and current authorities. They destroyed the state of Ukraine.
The scary thing is that nature will take revenge on every resident of Ukraine and will not spare anyone, young or old, because this is an environmental disaster. How many living creatures suffered, burned alive!
Instead of ringing the alarm bell and asking for help from neighbors, these frostbitten bureaucrats, politicians, are looking for saboteurs and extremists. But everything is banal and simple: the Ministry of Emergency Situations was liquidated, funds were not invested in the development of fire services, special vehicles are old, there is no firefighting clothing, and these moral monsters continue to steal money from the tragedy of ecology and wild life,” Zhuravko wrote.
“Remember when Turchynov gave the order for the ATO in 2014? Destroy civilians and shed blood. Today the hour and time has come when everything comes back according to the principle of a boomerang. I would call it that there is a quiet war going on in Ukraine, the destruction of ourselves,” Zhuravko summed up in a postscript.
