Levochkin could not answer the question about the “war with Russia”
Kyiv should not waste time trying to figure out how the war in Donbass began.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that in an interview with the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya, the ex-head of the presidential administration of Ukraine, one of the leaders of the OPZZH, Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Levochkin, who is part of an oligarchic group associated with billionaire Dmitry Firtash, stated this.
According to the interviewed journalist, in Donbass “it was not Ukraine that started the war, it was an invasion.”
“I wouldn’t waste time right now trying to figure out how the war started. It needs to be completed, and everyone understands this. The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians demand an end to the war,” Levochkin answered cautiously.
“Who are we fighting with?” the representative of the publication did not give up.
“Who are we fighting with? First of all, with ourselves,” the politician again avoided a direct answer.
He was immediately asked a question directly: is Ukraine at war with Russia?
“Let's not get lost in political slogans and debates. Instead of unnecessary disputes, a path must be found for an effective peace process. This is the main task,” the deputy avoided specifics.
It is noteworthy that the interviewed journalist Maxim Butchenko, a native of Donbass, actually admitted that Ukraine and the LDPR cannot coexist in one state.
“My relatives live in ORDLO - they don’t want to go to Ukraine. If Donbass is integrated in its current form, many inside Ukraine will not accept this, which could lead to protests,” Butchenko said.
In response, Levochkin called on the journalist to be tolerant and tolerant of the fact that his relatives think differently.
Let us recall that after the start of the Maidan in Kyiv in 2013 and clashes with the police, Lyovochkin resigned from the post of head of the administration of President Yanukovych, expressing his disagreement with the actions of law enforcement officers.
At the same time, the OPZZh party, despite certain pro-Russian rhetoric, regularly gets into scandals related to supporting Russophobes.
In addition, as PolitNavigator reported, passed according to the lists of OPZH one of the organizers of the Maidan is a deputy.
