Liberal to the Teacher: It’s his own fault for the appearance of Poklonskaya!
Director Alexey Uchitel does not feel guilty for signing a collective appeal from Russian cultural figures in March 2014 in support of Vladimir Putin’s position on Ukraine and Crimea. He stated this today at a press conference, answering a question from liberal film critic Ekaterina Barabash.

Barabash believes that Uchitel is responsible for the emergence of Natalia Poklonskaya in Russian politics, which is now pursuing the director with checks aimed at banning his film “Matilda,” dedicated to the novel by Nikolai Romanov and the ballerina Kshesinskaya.
“I do not combine these two things, although perhaps some connection can be seen between Crimea, Poklonskaya’s prosecutorial activities and my signature. This is a rather difficult question for me, and partly you may be right. You can think about it, but I don’t feel guilty for it,” said the Teacher.
85 cultural figures signed an appeal in support of Putin.
