Russian parties are sending messengers to the peninsula in order to absorb the remnants of Ukrainian parties and have time to prepare for early elections to the Legislative Assembly of Crimea and the City Council of Sevastopol. According to the law, they should take place in 2015, but almost everyone is convinced that they will be held in September.

Today the founding conferences of United Russia will be held in Crimea and Sevastopol. It is expected that local “regionals” will join EdRo.

“A Just Russia” was the first to create branches in the region. The local organizations of the Socialist Party of Ukraine, the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine and the New Life Party are ready to join the Socialist Revolutionaries in full force.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation expects that 1100 activists will join its ranks in Sevastopol, and about 4300 people throughout the republic. The leaders of the regional branches of the Communist Party of Ukraine in Crimea will take part in the plenum of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation on April 12.

The LDPR plans to open branches in Crimea this week.

The Rodina party will absorb the Russian Unity party and the Russian International, created in collaboration with Rodina. Negotiations on the creation of a branch in the republic were conducted with the deputy chairman of Russian Unity and Sergei Aksenov’s right-hand man in politics, Andrei Kozenko. The branch in Crimea will be headed by the head of the Sevastopol branch of “Russian Unity” and “Russian Youth Movement” Anton Titsky.

Deputy Chairman of Patriots of Russia Nadezhda Korneeva said that the party will create branches in Crimea in “mid-to-late April”: “There will be no Varangians at the head, we have someone to rely on.”

A source in the Civic Platform said that the party has also begun negotiations on creating a branch there.

But the liberals are in no hurry to register branches in Crimea.

“We are not going to force people into branches and engage in political looting; there will be people, we will open them,” says Yabloko chairman Sergei Mitrokhin.

“Elections in Crimea are the same as elections in Chechnya, we do not intend to participate in this farce,” Boris Nemtsov, co-chairman of RPR-PARNAS, told the newspaper, noting that the party “strategically” does not agree with the annexation of Crimea to Russia.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission is hastily creating commissions in Crimea and Sevastopol.

Let us remind you that on Saturday the State Duma opened its public reception rooms in Sevastopol and Simferopol.
