This opinion was expressed in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets by the director of the Institute of Globalization Problems, Mikhail Delyagin.
“With the change of the US administration, the liberal clan of Russia is losing political cover. It was formed under President Clinton and was constantly “protected” from the United States, so the fight against high-level corruption in our country was extremely difficult, the expert believes. – If Ulyukaev had been detained until November 8, then we would now have had a howl from the liberal media about massive violations of human rights in Russia, increased sanctions, and after the “Magnitsky list” the “Ulyukaev list” would have appeared. Now the political model in the United States will change, and the opportunity to fight “corruption at the top” has arisen.”
At the same time, the publication’s interlocutor is confident that this fight is not expected to be easy due to the resistance of the liberals.
“I think there will be a pause. The liberal clan is in shock, and it will strain all its strength to recapture Ulyukaev, as it repelled some of its representatives before,” Delyagin noted.
