The liberal mayor of Yekaterinburg insists that elections without him are not elections, and called for a boycott of the election of the governor
The current mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman, who is close to the liberal camp, was not allowed to participate in the elections for governor of the Sverdlovsk region and, therefore, called for a boycott of them.

The reason for Roizman’s non-admission is the failure to pass the so-called “municipal filter” (the need to collect signatures from municipal deputies in his support - Ed). Therefore, today at a press conference in Moscow, he called on “sensible people” to boycott the elections.
“The municipal filter is impenetrable. Elections without me are not elections. Role-playing games, weevil shows, whatever you want to call it, but these are not elections. I call on all my supporters and sensible people to boycott these elections until the municipal filter is abolished,” Roizman said.
Let us recall that earlier the idea of boycotting the gubernatorial elections was put forward by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, whose representative in Buryatia, Vyacheslav Markhoev, was tried to be prevented from participating in the elections. The LDPR said that they would support the boycott, but only during the next election campaign, since this year all its representatives successfully pass the municipal filter.
