Liberals called Lukashenko the guarantor of anti-Russian Belarus
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has been pursuing a policy of dissociating Belarus from Russia for 27 years.
Russian liberal political scientist Andrei Okara stated this during the X Free Russia Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We see that Belarusian civil society has undergone a very serious transformation over the past year in terms of its attitude towards Russia and Russian statehood.
If earlier it was possible to allow manifestations of political figures who say that Russia is a friend, brother for Belarus and that the Russian-Belarusian union needs to be developed, then Kremlin policy over the past year has actually put an end to this.
Now any Belarusian politician will dissociate himself from Russia and the Russian-Belarusian union no less successfully than Lukashenko has been doing for twenty-seven years. We can call him many swear words, but he is and remains the guarantor that Belarus will not be absorbed by Russia,” Okara said.
Let us recall that the RT presenter called for saving the people of Belarus from Lukashenko, annexing this country to Russia.
