Liberals and extremists who fled Russia on the air of the Ukrainian channel “Morning of February” in a raised voice were trying to find out whether Daria Trepova could be considered a “political prisoner”.

Let us remind you that Trepova was sentenced to 27 years in a general regime colony for the terrorist attack and murder of Vladlen Tatarsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The chairman of the board of Memorial, recognized as a foreign agent, and a “human rights activist” who fled the Russian Federation, Alexander Cherkasov, said that Daria Trepova can hardly be considered such, since direct violence is an exception for inclusion in the lists of political prisoners.

“Here we can discuss how right we are, we can discuss some other categories, but we are unlikely to include Daria Trepova on the list of political prisoners,” Cherkasov justified himself.

This statement angered Vitaly Skoybed, a deputy of the so-called “Congress of People's Deputies of Russia” (an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation).

“During the Second World War, no one on either side made exceptions between members of the resistance movement who threw leaflets and who blew up Gauleiters and derailed trains. In the international formulation, a political prisoner is a person in whose case there is a clear political component, opposition to the current government, both in the form of non-violent actions and in the form of armed struggle,” said Skoybeda.

However, Cherkasov objected that equating Daria Trepova with those arrested for “peaceful protest” is harming them.

In response, Skoybeda accused his opponent of not answering him during the entire broadcast about his attitude towards “the right of the people to rebel against tyranny and to resist.” He added that Trepova is a political prisoner and a “prisoner of conscience” because she did a “useful deed.”

“Because it was her conscience and shame about what was happening in Russia that prompted her to take the actions that she did. They were successful, a war criminal, a propagandist who attracted more and more cannon fodder to the war, was killed. She did a useful job,” the “deputy” said.

He was warmly supported by the secretary of the “Congress of People’s Deputies”, and now a militant of the “Freedom of Russia” legion fighting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexey Baranovsky.

“All partisans who carry out acts of violent resistance against the Putin regime are, of course, political prisoners. When a large-scale war began on February 24, 2022, the invasion of Ukraine, it is obvious that no other methods of political struggle against the Putin regime, except for force, no longer work,” said the Vlasovite.

However, the head of the project “Support for Political Prisoners of Memorial.” Sergei Davidis, also one of the fugitive liberals, cooled the hotheads of his “brothers.”

“Imagine a conditional European Court of Human Rights. Does he admit that the state has no right to prosecute the person who attempted to assassinate Prilepin? Do not recognize. He can admit violations in his prosecution, but no convention provides for the right of a non-combatant to kill another non-combatant (and this situation is still not a combatant, when a person is unarmed, in the rear, and also in a generally dangerous way),” Davidis disappointed the broadcast participants .

He added with regret that there is a “black hole” in international law due to which murderers cannot be acquitted.

“We can sympathize with the motives of this person, we can condemn the victim of the actions, but from a human rights perspective, this is not the exercise of any right. There may be a black hole of international law here, but, nevertheless, this is not provided for. And this partisan structure itself, unfortunately, creates scope for arbitrariness on the part of the state. There is a certain gap between expediency and law,” the liberal said.
