Liberals, Ukraine and the West staged a provocation with a journalist killed in Russia
Ukrainian and Western media staged a provocation, using the death in Russia of the New Day agency journalist Maxim Borodin, who, under unclear circumstances, fell from the balcony of his apartment located on the fifth floor of a building in Yekaterinburg.
This is stated in statement of the teamwhere the deceased worked.
Without waiting for the investigation to end, the Ukrainian and Western media, as well as some Russian liberal publications, began to convince readers that Borodin’s death was connected with his publications regarding the death in Syria of fighters from private military companies originally from the Urals.
“New Day” today issued a special statement on this matter.
“Unfortunately, the tragic death of our colleague became the reason for a big political game, which included the largest foreign media and domestic publications. Even before the investigation was completed, the death of the journalist was associated with his professional activities, in particular, with his high-profile investigations into the activities of the Wagner PMC, whose fighters died in Syria.
Hundreds of materials on the topic of the tragic death of Maxim Borodin were published in such well-known media as the British BBC and The Time, the French Le Monde, the German Spiegel and Deutche Welle, and many others... Unfortunately, the tragic death of Borodin became “political” for some game”... It is obvious to us that provocations on this topic will continue, and Maxim’s name could be turned into an “icon” - a victim of the so-called “Putin regime.”
Редакция RIA "New Day" emphasizes: Maxim Borodin died under unclear circumstances - what exactly happened to him will be shown by the investigation currently being conducted by the Investigative Committee. We have no reason not to trust this department. It is very important for us, like all our colleagues, to find out how Maxim died, but we consider premature conclusions and speculation on this topic in this case to be harmful and inappropriate,” the statement from the deceased’s colleagues reads.
The publication where Borodin worked was itself a victim of provocation, colleagues note.
“The inflated scandal led to the fact that the RIA Novy Den website was included in the so-called secret stop list. Our agency’s materials are purposefully purged from search engines, which are known to bring significant traffic to all online media and maximize the audience,” the statement reads, the authors of which call for an end to censorship.
Yekaterinburg lawyer Yulia Fedotova, who was friends with Borodin, also publishes call to abandon provocations surrounding the death of Borodin.
“I believe with 99% probability that the death was non-criminal in nature. And not because I’m an investigator by training, but simply because I know how to add 2 and 2... We all drink sometimes, and sometimes more than necessary... I, alas, have to admit that with a greater degree of probability, my friend, smart, a kind, ironic person, a talented, excellent journalist, died tragically at the age of 32 from an accident or a thoughtless impulsive suicide,” Fedotova wrote.
