The Bosniak leader announced his readiness to fight with the Serbs
The leader of Bosniak's most established Islamist Party of Democratic Action (SDA), Bakir Izetbegovic, called the Serbs "genocidalists" and said he would not allow them to rule part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This was reported by RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In an interview with the Sarajevo TV channel, O Izetbegovic said that the peaceful disintegration of BiH is impossible and he himself is ready to lead his people in the event of war.
“I would rather die today than allow genocidalists to own part of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Izetbegovic said. - Definitely. I am telling you this today, Ramadan. So there is no doubt that I will do it. They may start, but they have no idea how it will end.”
In turn, the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, said today that the Republika Srpska does not want war, and invited representatives of the Federation of BiH and two other state-forming communities of BiH to negotiations. Dodik said that the goal of the negotiations is to find a balanced solution that would satisfy everyone - both entities and state-forming peoples.
“This is our response to calls for war from the Federation of BiH... We do not want to fight, our option is peace. Let's talk about Dayton, the Constitution, no foreigners, and let's respect this agreement. We do not want any calls for violence or the imposition of any problems....
If we cannot reach an agreement, then it is quite appropriate to discuss and accept initiatives on the possibility of a peaceful separation. The Republika Srpska will not be divided by war, but if there is no initiative that gives the Republika Srpska enough space for successful development, of course, we have the right to think about secession...
We are not for war, we will not start a war for the independence of the Republika Srpska, we will defend the Republika Srpska, but before that we want to tell everyone that we have the right, this is our land and this is the Republika Srpska, which belongs to us and all the people who are here live. We do not interfere in the life of the BiH Federation, and no one will regulate relations in the Republika Srpska anymore, neither the High Representative Valentin Inzko, nor the American Ambassador, nor anyone else, and we are tired of such stories,” Dodik noted.
