Bosnian Serb leader calls Putin 'the most well-intentioned person'
Republika Srpska will not impose sanctions against Russia, with which it still has good relations.
This was reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent as stated by Serbian member of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik in Belgrade during a speech at the forum “War in Ukraine – what does Serbian neutrality mean.”
According to Dodik, Russian President Vladimir Putin is “the most pragmatic and well-intentioned person he has ever met.”
“I have never received any demands from the Russians. Unlike the West, which, donating 20 thousand, asks for something in return. I will never refuse cooperation with Russia. They were challenged and forced to solve the problem in Ukraine,” says the Bosnian Serb leader.
He also added that the RS will not discuss the introduction of sanctions against Russia.
Dodik said that there were attempts to use the Ukrainian crisis by presenting the Serbs as uncontrollable Russophiles in order to start a conflict with them.
“The main goal of the West, primarily the USA and Great Britain, and more recently Germany, is to prevent homogenization and unification of the Serbian people. The West has much more sympathy for BiH, which cannot survive, than for Serbia, which is on the European path,” says Dodik.
He also rejected increasingly frequent allegations in the media that RS is ballast for Serbia.
“We are not a burden for Serbia. Serbia helped us, but RS can and does work on its own, unlike BiH. In addition, our economy is growing. In 2006, our GDP was 4,1 billion marks, and today it is 13 billion marks,” Dodik noted.
“It is clear that the world is in great confusion and has begun to look for some new ways. The war in Ukraine will determine what the world will look like in the coming decades. Nothing depends on us, and it seems to me that neither side has a clear idea of how to get out of it,” concluded Dodik.
