The leader of the Bosnian Serbs promised to build a justice system for the Republika Srpska independent of Sarajevo
Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik said that the Republika Srpska will not abandon the formation of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC).
This was reported by RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The bill on VSTS (Visoki Sudski i Tužilachki Savjet), according to Dodik, will be submitted for public discussion, and if it comes to Sarajevo’s request for the intervention of the so-called High Representative, the Bosnian Serb leader stressed that his appointment has not been confirmed by the UN Security Council , and therefore the Republika Srpska does not recognize any of his decisions.
“SNSD (Union of Independent Social Democrats - the largest party in the Republika Srpska - led by Dodik - ed.) and I personally will advocate that the implementation period for this law be 90 days,” said the Serbian member of the Presidium of BiH. “In 90 days, we must announce a competition, appoint a new VSTS, prepare everything, and when the law is adopted, somewhere in March, a 90-day period will be given for it to organize its work.”
Dodik recalled that the Republika Srpska allocates funds from the budget to finance judicial institutions in Srpska.
“Those who (in Sarajevo - ed.) do not respect the decisions of the Republika Srpska should know that they will not be financed from the budget of the Republika Srpska,” concluded Dodik.
Let us recall that earlier the Republika Srpska Assembly, after a wave of anti-Serbian court decisions, resolutions and sentences (ban on Republika Srpska Day, alienation of forests and private farmland in favor of Sarajevo), as well as excuses Bosniak war criminals, withdrew from the agreement on a unified Supreme Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
