Bosnian Serb leader: “In this century, our people must unite in one state”
President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that in this century Serbia, together with Kosovo, the Republika Srpska and Montenegro should become a single state.
The leader of the Bosnian Serbs stated this to the Serbian edition of Sputnik radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The President of Republika Srpska believes that an era has arrived when in a few years or decades a new configuration of the world will have to be created. This, in his opinion, should not take the Serbian people by surprise.
“We must say that in this century we want a single state consisting of Serbia with Kosovo and Metohija, Republika Srpska and, if there is such a democratic decision, Montenegro. I repeat, in this century, and we can leave this to future generations…. But what we must do, and Vucic, and I, and the patriarch, and many others, is to sit down and say in the All-Serbia Council: we want to be a united country, because we are the majority here,” Dodik noted.
At the same time, the President of the RS drew attention to the fact that Serbia, RS and Montenegro already have experience of coexistence within one state.
The expressed position of the leader of the Bosnian Serbs has already caused indignation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, which responded to him with a statement that “Montenegro is an independent and internationally recognized country, a NATO member, focused on the European future, and not on retrograde ideas.”
“It would be interesting to test the will of the citizens of Montenegro in a democratic referendum. Already now,” Milorad Dodik responded to the note from the Montenegrin Foreign Ministry.
