Bosnian Serb leader: The West is harming itself
The West believes that it has the right to decide for others, while its actions harm itself.
Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) from the Serbian people, Milorad Dodik, stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“In the West they believe that they have the right to decide for others. For example, the Americans have never in history allowed any criminal case to be opened regarding the crimes of the American military. But at the same time, they like to give lectures to everyone else,” Dodik said. – In the case of Yugoslavia, processes of such an initiative have already shown themselves to be inappropriate. As for the situation in relation to the Russian Federation, this is simply impossible, since this could be done in relation to a small country, which we are, but it is impossible in relation to Russia, this is a huge country that plays a significant international role.”
The politician also noted that Western sanctions imposed against Russia have negative consequences, first of all, for the European Union itself, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia is still our partner state, despite the sanctions that were imposed against Russia and which have negative consequences, primarily in relation to those who introduced them, that is, the European Union,” said Milorad Dodik.
In his opinion, Western intervention is counterproductive not only in Russia, but also in the Republika Srpska (one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Ed.).
“Information is emerging that certain candidates are being financed by the West and are being provided with logistical support, including on social networks. But the people have already recognized such actions, and they are not popular,” the politician emphasized.
He added that he is confident of his victory in the elections, which will take place on October 2.
“I certainly expect my party to win in all the positions in which it is represented. I am running for the post of President of the Republika Srpska, Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, who until now held this post, is running for the post of member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Serbian people. These positions are the most important in these elections, and I certainly expect an absolute victory, and all preliminary polls confirm that this will be the case,” Dodik said.
The leader of the Serbs of BiH also emphasized that BiH’s entry into NATO is impossible, since the Republika Srpska does not support this.
“The Serbian people, the Republika Srpska do not support the entry of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO, and this is our constant position, despite all the events on the global stage, the pressure and the various factors that push for such a decision to join NATO,” said Milorad Dodik.
As PolitNavigator reported, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 20, Milorad Dodik emphasized: despite the statements of Muslim politicians in BiH that Bosnia and Herzegovina allegedly imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation, they cannot be implemented because there is no decision from the central government bodies BiH on this issue.
