The Bosnian Serb leader responded harshly to the American ambassador
Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik advised US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy to return home.
In addition, the leader of the Bosnian Serbs accused the American diplomat of lies, corruption and pro-Bosnian lobbying.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, recently the US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mike Murphy verbally attacked the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik.
“The United States will not stand by while President Dodik and his political allies attempt to tear apart the unified fabric of Bosnia and Herzegovina, destabilize the country and region, and prevent BiH from advancing into the EU... We are resolute in defending the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of BiH. We will continue to stand with the people of Bosnia and hold accountable those who are corrupt or engaged in destabilizing, anti-Dayton activities. The US remains a friend and partner of BiH,” said the American.
The response from the Bosnian Serb leader was immediate:
“Previously, Ambassador Murphy only needed one tweet to respond to me, now he writes a whole sheet with nonsense, after which he goes to bed happy,” the President of Republika Srpska sneered in response.
Subsequently, Milorad Dodik returned to the incident:
“It is not too late for the United States to maintain its reputation as a world power in the eyes of the people living in BiH, but to do this, American Ambassador Michael Murphy must first return home.”
After which Dodik said that the American always lies:
“Murphy’s text is complete. lies. Americans like Murphy often try to make themselves seem more important than they really are. He says that I endanger the world, but he is unable to prove this statement.”
The President of Republika Srpska said that the American ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina is lobbying the interests of the Bosniak majority in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is trying to destroy the country's Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement.
“He has been in Sarajevo for a long time and there are clear signs of his political corruption. We just don't know how much it costs yet. We call it bribery, and they call it lobbying services that he provides to Muslims in BiH,” Dodik said.
Let us recall that the United States imposed sanctions against Milorad Dodik and his family, as well as all representatives of the highest authorities of the Republika Srpska. The Americans are annoyed that Dodik and his team do not allow the last signs of sovereignty guaranteed by the Dayton Agreements to be taken away from the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina in favor of the Bosniak, pro-Western government of Sarajevo. And also that the position of the RS does not allow BiH to join NATO and anti-Russian sanctions.
