Chaifa leader proposed banning Donetsk and Lugansk from joining Russia
One of the ways to peacefully resolve the conflict in Donbass may be a compromise: Kyiv agrees to the withdrawal of Donetsk and Lugansk, but in return the militias guarantee the non-annexation of these territories to Russia.
The leader of the rock group “Chaif”, Vladimir Shakhrin, stated this in an interview with “Arguments and Facts”.

“The Ukrainian authorities need to show will and wisdom and release the rebel territories with the right of return. At the same time, stipulate the condition that they do not become part of Russia. If Ukraine becomes a prosperous European state, the residents of Donbass themselves will gladly ask to return,” he said.
At the same time, Shakhrin is confident that relations between Ukraine, Europe and Russia will quickly improve – if only the information agenda in the media changes.
“I read Shnur’s interview somewhere. The journalist asked him: “How is it that I interviewed you three years ago, and you told me that after 40 years there is no point in going on stage? You told your audience this too. Today you are 42 and still singing." To which Shnur replied: “Who remembers what I said three years ago? This is the Facebook generation. A week later these people don’t remember who told them what.” Therefore, I think as soon as the information field changes, relations between our countries will improve very quickly,” the musician reflects.
