The leader of the “Left” faction in the Bundestag, Sarah Wagenknecht, sharply criticized Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s visit to Berlin, where he arrived today to participate in the German-Ukrainian economic forum.

“Angela Merkel’s courtship of American dolls such as Yatsenyuk meets neither German nor European interests,” said Wagenknecht. She also added that “the Ukrainian government has not taken any steps in the fight against oligarchs and corruption.”
The German parliamentarian also criticized the Ukrainian government for the integration of members of fascist organizations into the intelligence services, internal affairs agencies and the army. Wagenknecht also added: “Radical hostility towards Russia will be an obstacle to the peace process and is a mechanism of self-destruction for the Ukrainian economy.”
The Chairman of the Left in the Bundestag told PolitNavigator: “Chancellor Merkel must come out of the shadow of American policy towards Ukraine. Unilateral steps not agreed with Russia, such as the planned entry into force of the economic part of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, must be suspended.”
“Otherwise, Germany and Europe will again be forced to pay for the consequences of US actions, as is happening in Iraq, Libya and Syria,” concluded Sarah Wagenknecht.
