Leader of the Komsomol members of Ukraine: The real separatists are not the LDPR, but the majority in the Verkhovna Rada
The real separatists are not the LDPR, but the ruling majority in the Verkhovna Rada, which provoked the withdrawal of Crimea after the Euromaidan, and is now pushing out the Donbass and inciting other regions of Ukraine to centrifugal tendencies.
This opinion was voiced in his blog by Kiev politician Mikhail Kononovich, leader of the Komsomol members of Ukraine, recalling that the day before the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on additional payments to the pensions of “independence fighters” - members of the OUN-UPA - Hitler’s accomplices during the Great Patriotic War.

“It was precisely because of such sensitive topics that the country began to fall apart. Remember - it was precisely the themes of language, national minorities, caveman Ukrainian nationalism, rehabilitation of fascist collaborators, religion - that led to the events in Crimea and Donbass. The separatists who have settled in the Rada have been rocking the boat of Ukrainian statehood for a long time... Each of these gangs lays claim to its own chieftaincy,” Kononovich believes.
According to him, against this background, the republics of Donbass look completely different, having announced a humanitarian program within the framework of which assistance is provided to veterans of the Great Patriotic War,
“At least half of the population of Ukraine will, one way or another, resist the Nazi actions of the authorities. How they will do this, we will soon find out... The LDPR authorities have already announced that they will pay each WWII veteran ten thousand rubles in the Donbass, regardless of their place of residence, that is, also veterans from the Ukrainian side,” notes Kononovich.
He believes that the so-called “war parties” from the Maidan, despite the rhetoric about a “united country,” in practice turned out to be the real gravediggers of Ukraine, trying to instill cavernous nationalism among the population.
“Methodically and purposefully, starting from the February 2014 coup d’etat, the above-mentioned parties of war and unrest are moving towards their main goal - to destroy Ukraine at any cost. And the worst thing is that they succeed!” – states Kononovich.
Mikhail Kononovich is one of the initiators of the installation of a memorial plaque to Oles Buzina at the entrance where the writer lived. However, then this board was torn down by Right Sector militants.
Kononovich repeatedly was attacked by Ukrainian nationalists. At present accused by Ukrainian security forces of treason, however, remains in Kyiv and continues political struggle.
