Lugansk, May 23 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The head of the “Luhansk People’s Republic” Valery Bolotov said that just yesterday, during clashes near Rubezhnoye, 35 National Guard soldiers went over to the side of the republic.

“It’s hard for me to talk about the events that happened yesterday in the north of our republic: blood is shed at home. The Kiev junta committed an act of aggression, killing both our people and their own mercenaries. The Ukrainian army, together with the so-called National Guard and the “right sector,” fired indiscriminately from mortars into our cities; they entered people’s houses, robbed and beat them. Those who just yesterday fed and provided medical care, and yesterday lived a calm, peaceful life. Moreover, these non-humans with armored vehicles, with the support of aviation, want to wipe out our independence, our cities and towns, our lives from the face of the earth. War has come to our home. On behalf of the republic, I offer condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims. They stood on a par with Odessa and Mariupol, Slavyansk and Kramatorsk,” Bolotov said during a press conference.
“In connection with yesterday’s events, I introduced martial law on the territory of the “Luhansk People’s Republic.” The troops have been put on alert, and the patrol service has been strengthened. Full mobilization announced. I would especially like to dwell on mobilization: it has a voluntary basis. We do not force anyone into military registration and enlistment offices and do not threaten anyone. Yesterday people themselves came at our call, and we are very grateful to them for this. We have very united and responsible citizens who know the value of their homeland,” the LPR leader emphasized.
“I would like to note that our mobilization is fundamentally different from the mobilization that is currently taking place on the territory of Ukraine: people are forced to die under the threat of criminal prosecution. They are used as cannon fodder. They throw down their weapons and go over to the side of the republic: they are shot in the back. As here in Rubezhne, so in the Donetsk region. An example is yesterday’s events in Volnovakha,” he said.
“Once again I express my condolences and call on the Kyiv authorities to reason. We, the “Lugansk People’s Republic” and all its residents, will survive this confrontation. After all, the truth is on our side,” says Bolotov’s appeal.
Answering clarifying questions from journalists, he said: “The National Guard is coming over to our side. 35 people. Fed. They said: “We want to go home.” They handed over the weapons. They were put on the bus while our car was escorting them, and they were shot by their own people. Surely there were wounded there.”
Let us recall that earlier military doctor Gennady Moralishvili said that residents of the city of Rubezhnoye were shot by soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, trying to explain that there are chemical plants producing explosives and ammonia on the territory of the city, so it is impossible to shoot from artillery.
As Navigator reported, yesterday bloody clashes took place between Ukrainian security forces and militias near Rubizhne and Lysichansk.
