Leader “I have a cramp in my leg”: I repent. I want to erase concerts in Crimea from my life
The leader of the rock group “Nogu Svelo”, Maxim Pokrovsky, who gave a concert in Sevastopol in 2015, now supported the Kiev regime and emigrated from the Russian Federation, said that he considered Crimea “annexed” and opposed its reunification with Russia.
He stated this in an interview with the German publication DW, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Pokrovsky repented that he visited Crimea, having entered its territory bypassing Ukrainian checkpoints.
“In my opinion, there is no law in Ukraine that prohibits a Russian group or a Russian-speaking group from performing in front of an audience in annexed territory. The law concerns something completely different - the law concerns the passport regime, compliance with the passport regime, which I did not comply with because I was a fool.
Because I didn’t pay enough attention to this, I was busy with other things in life, which in no way relieves me of responsibility. And I bore this responsibility - I haven’t set foot on Ukrainian soil for exactly so many years, and perhaps even longer than expected,” said the musician.
“And I never approved of the annexation of Crimea. At some point, I began to speak out more loudly. Since recently, the song "Generation Z", I began to speak about this in the lyrics of my songs. At some point I spoke out more, at some point less, at some point I didn’t speak out, but I did not support the annexation of Crimea.
Of course, if we could turn back time and erase these concerts from our career, I would, of course, be glad to turn back time.
On the other hand, to the pre-war situation, on the 10th of February, for example, our official response to anyone inviting us to perform on the territory of Crimea was: “Yes, we are ready, but only if we can enter the territory of Crimea, following the procedure , provided for by the Ukrainian state, to which this territory belongs,” Pokrovsky said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that Pokrovsky, who recorded a song in support of Ukraine, criticized his colleagueswho support the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces, and promised to return to the country only after a change of power.
