The leader of Okean Elzy called for the deployment of US and British troops to Crimea under the auspices of the UN
Kyiv, March 07 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – To stabilize the situation in Crimea, it is worth sending troops from Great Britain, the United States, as well as other guarantor countries of Ukraine, which would replace armed people on the streets without identification marks.
The leader of the musical group “Okean Elzy” Svyatoslav Vakarchuk stated this on the air of the First National.

“Why don’t the guarantor countries send some forces there together? The USA, Great Britain, the UN will stand side by side... This is at least more fair than now people in military uniform with machine guns are telling us that they should hold a referendum,” the musician said.
Vakarchuk believes that residents of Crimea should not go to the referendum announced by the authorities of the autonomy. “Now the referendum will not give anything. It will only make things worse,” he said.
“If the Americans and Britain don’t retreat, they stand until the end, they bring in their destroyers, and the Russians don’t retreat either, then even I don’t want to continue... but it seems to me that they won’t retreat. Do you, Crimeans, want the Americans and the Russians near Balaklava to sort out their relationship?” – said the musician.
Vakarchuk called for remembering “who the right-wing Muslims are.” “Can you imagine if they suddenly start to behave actively?” – the leader of “Ocean Elzy” warned.
“Electricity, gas, water - we are one complete infrastructure. Why stir up this hive? – he added.
Vakarchuk believes that residents of Crimea should wait for the elections of a new president of Ukraine, and then a referendum on the status of the peninsula can be held - “without the military,” but the future of Crimea will be decided by all residents of the country, and not just the autonomy.
“We are doing an all-Ukrainian referendum and the question of the status of Crimea. Do you think that Ukrainians are some kind of evil people? If everyone in Crimea doesn’t want to live with Ukraine, do you think that Ukraine will need such land?” – said Vakarchuk.
He called on Crimeans to remember: “You and I have the same passports. We raised the same flag. We were rooting for the same team.”
“Everything can still be changed and stopped,” Vakarchuk said about the upcoming referendum in Crimea.
