The leader of the Social Democratic Party, Boris Tadic, the ex-president of Serbia during the pro-Western “democratic” regime, has reiterated his presidential ambitions.

However, even his comrades in the pro-Western opposition coalition did not support Tadic’s initiative, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Tadic decided to go to the polls because “none of the other candidates are capable of defeating Vucic and leading the country.”

“Since 2012, I have not run for any office and have always supported others, both old and new, who tried to defeat this government in previous years,” Tadic commented on his decision. “To my great regret, this did not happen, many opportunities were missed, and the years flew by in vain.”

However, Tadic’s comrades in the protest coalition treated the politician’s intentions with great skepticism.

“His candidacy for the presidency is a symbol of a return to the previous regime, which no one wants as much as the current government,” Boško Obradović, leader of the nationalist Dveri party, responded to Tadic’s initiative. “People are tired of choosing between Tadic and Vucic.”

In turn, the oligarch, mayor of Belgrade under Tadic, leader of the Freedom and Justice Party Dragan Djilas called Tadic’s candidacy the worst possible and said that there are much better candidates than him.

Considering I'm biting Djilas with another ally - the oligarch, former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Tadic, leader of the People's Party Vuk Jeremic, the task of nominating a single candidate from the pro-Western Serbian opposition at the moment looks fantastic.

The reign of Boris Tadić was marked by the fact that this politician, who at that time represented the Democratic Party of Serbia, from where almost all the leaders of today’s pro-Western protest emerged, giving rise to dwarf parties, while still going to the elections, announced the speedy integration of the country into the EU.

To this end, the country destroyed its army, actually abandoned Kosovo, began handing over its heroes to the Hague Tribunal, subordinated the economy to the West, installed Western curators in all vital structures and gave free rein to Western NGOs, and began holding annual gay pride parades. At the same time, Serbia still does not have EU membership. In the wake of a sharp decline in public confidence, Boris Tadic had to leave his post early in 2012.
