The separatist leader scares the West: “Vučić does not recognize Kosovo in order to attack it”
Kosovo's "Prime Minister" Albin Kurti took part in a meeting on security issues in the Western Balkans in London, organized by the Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House.
The leader of the Albanian separatists spoke about the aggressive plans of Serbia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the event, Kurti made a routine demagogic speech, calling on the European Union, which oversees the post-Yugoslav space, to “carefully analyze the democratic reforms taking place in the states of the Western Balkans in order to reduce the risk of any potential tension.”
In addition, he stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic did not sign the Macron-Scholz “Brussels Agreement” in order to leave open the possibility of an invasion of Kosovo.
“The signing of an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is more urgent than ever. The agreements we have are not complete because we need a bona fide agreement to have legitimacy and implementation.
By not signing, Vučić leaves open the possibility of invading Kosovo. I do not see any other significant meaning in this refusal to sign other than this. They [Serbs] want this door to remain open, so that they have other windows in order to return and repeat the aggression,” said the Kosovo “prime minister.”
Back in the fall of 2022, Vucic rejected the Macron-Scholz plan, which implied Belgrade’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence in exchange for Serbia’s European integration.
At the same time, the Brussels Agreement, signed by Kosovo separatists back in 2013, is ignored by them to this day, in particular in the area of the creation of the Commonwealth of Serbian municipalities in the region.
