The leader of the Serbian opposition announced an EU attack on Belgrade and interference in the elections
The leader of the People's Party, a rich man, the former head of the Serbian Foreign Ministry and the ex-chairman of the UN General Assembly, Vuk Jeremic, said that the time has come for “serious people in the opposition” to agree to participate in the elections “behind closed doors.”
This was reported by TV channel N1, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This way there will be a much greater chance of success,” Jeremic noted. – If you want to discuss a coordinated attack on the government with the participation of the EU, then an agreement must be reached without attracting attention. Meetings in front of cameras, statements at the entrance and exit do not give anything. We should not complain and negotiate through the media, but we should be as serious as possible.”
Jeremić said that the most important partners of the People's Party are those political forces that boycotted the "fake elections" while those who participated in them "do not have much trust."
“The imperative of the European Union, whose role this time will be much more serious and decisive, will be not to repeat the opposition boycott of the elections, but to ensure that the opposition receives as much support as possible. Our task is to take advantage of the situation, and not to throw at every bone thrown by the authorities; the boycott showed that without opposition there is no legitimacy of the authorities. The authorities have failed to create a semblance of normalization, and they cannot afford another election cycle without opposition,” Jeremic added.
When asked about relations with Russia, the pro-Western politician answered evasively: “Let’s wait and see who will become the Minister of Energy and the head of Srbijagaz,” hinting that these positions could be filled by Russian proteges.
Previously, Vuk Jeremic repeatedly found himself in international scandals related to his entertainment in the company of women of easy virtue and arrest his closest associates for money laundering.
