Leaders of the Majlis are registering taxi drivers and carriers in Crimea. Next - will they take baksheesh?
Under the noise of the food blockade of Crimea, the leaders of the Majlis are trying to take control of the transportation of people to the peninsula. Now activists from among the Crimean Tatars who went to Ukraine are compiling a list of permanent taxi drivers and carriers. The initiator is Russian businessman Lenur Islyamov. Together with the leaders of the Majlis, Refat Chubarov and Mustafa Dzhemilev, he was one of the instigators of the blockade of Crimea. At the same time, Lenur Islyamov owns the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR, moved to Kyiv and knows a lot about transportation. He still owns the large Crimean carrier SimCityTrans. They try to explain the compilation of lists as a kind of search for Russian informants.

“With reference to Lenur Islyamov. The list of regular taxi drivers of carriers is needed only to understand who travels to Crimea. Among them may be informants of the Russian special services. We are not talking about any badges or monopolization of the taxi driver market, this information cannot be hidden, and it will hit the organizers of the action,” Ukrainian journalist Osman Pashayev wrote on social networks.
Let us recall that earlier the leaders of the Majlis claimed that the blockade would only affect freight transport. However, the turn quickly came to control taxi drivers. It is curious that taxi drivers from among the Crimean Tatars now have an almost complete monopoly on transportation to Crimea in the Kherson region. Moreover, those who have been living in the region for a long time and in some localities constitute the majority. Therefore, it is unclear why Islyamov needs lists of his own fellow tribesmen, who, of course, even with the introduction of “baksheesh” for the leaders of the Majlis, will be forced to remain silent so as not to violate “corporate” solidarity.
Let us recall that earlier, speaking about the blockade of Crimea, the leaders of the Mejlis more than once mentioned the need to create wholesale bases in the Kherson region, where Crimeans should purchase Ukrainian goods. Moreover, the electronic representation of the President of Ukraine even registered a petition that trade with Crimea should be given to the Crimean Tatars. However, she was supported by fifty people out of 25 thousand needed.
However, experts immediately named one of the reasons for the blockade as the redistribution of cash flows from trade with Crimea, and not the protection of the Crimean Tatar people, who are “suffering repression” on the peninsula. The Crimean experience, for example, the uncontrolled and illegal construction of cafes and shops in the reserve in the area of the Ai-Petri plateau, they believe, suggests that in the new place the leaders of the Mejlis and businessmen close to them will act in the same way.
By the way, in the case of a census of people traveling to Crimea, demonstrators at the border also have the opportunity to control passengers, among whom one can always find those who are wrong-minded or suspiciously wealthy.
