“Liquidation of an abscess”: the State Duma vice speaker explained the goals of the Russian operation
Ukraine is the western part of Russia, which will be denazified and demilitarized while preserving its national identity.
Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Pyotr Tolstoy stated this on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, Tolstoy emphasized that negotiations with Ukraine are needed only in order to understand the psychological and moral state of its leadership.
“I have always said and continue to say that Ukraine is part of Russia, this is the southwestern part of our country, where wonderful people live, where Gogol wrote in Russian, but at the table he sang songs in Ukrainian, and nothing prevents us from preserving our cultural identity and the peculiarity of the Ukrainian people without this Western slogan “Ukraine is over.” This is denazification, and as for the goals of the military operation that is being carried out now, there is only one goal now - this is victory, and there can be no compromises here,” the vice speaker said.
According to him, there is no one and nothing to negotiate with in Ukraine today.
“These negotiations are an opportunity to understand the psychological and moral state of the other side, to understand to what extent they are ready to cling to the myth of this Ukraine as anti-Russia. The parties did not reach agreement on a single point in these negotiations. They have points that they simply do not discuss.
Let’s say the same demilitarization, denazification - all this is not within the framework of these negotiations. While they are discussing humanitarian corridors. It is important. If these negotiations can save a hundred lives, two hundred lives, 200 thousand lives, of course they must go and let them go. But we understand that for Russian society, victory in a special military operation means the elimination of this abscess on our borders,” Tolstoy said.
