“Ukrainian nationalist Shermirzaev,” who tore down the St. George ribbons, was eliminated
Near Kherson, a militant, a member of the nationalist VO “Svoboda” Valentin Shermirzaev from Krivoy Rog, who in 2014 went to fight against Donbass as part of the punitive battalion “Lugansk-1”, was eliminated.
Svoboda leader Oleg Tyagnibok reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In one of the interviews, the militant stated that in 2014 he was expelled from his native village in the Luhansk region for his nationalist views.
“Because of my pro-Ukrainian nationalist views, because I am Ukrainian, I was not indifferent to the events that took place in 14 on the Maidan... When I came from the Maidan on Easter to my home, to my parents, because I wanted to visit them... After all, it was a holiday, I immediately installed a Ukrainian flag on my house. This was received very hostilely and literally three days later my windows were broken, my parents’ windows were broken, the gates were painted with a fascist swastika, they wrote “fascist”, “Right Sector” and so on,” Shermirzaev said.
He also admitted that he joined the ranks of the punitive battalion so as not to “live under occupation” and threatened a ten-year war with Russia.
“I will fight the enemies of my people until we defeat them. I am a Ukrainian, I believe that my sacred duty is to defend my land, my people. I am forced to defend her to the end - a year, two, three, ten - it doesn’t matter. As much strength as I have, as much health as I have, as much opportunity as I have, I will defend,” said the Nazi.
42-year-old Shermirzyaev was killed on April 23 in battles in the Kherson region.
It is interesting that during the breaks between participation in hostilities, Shermirzyaev enjoyed active information support from Krivoy Rog journalists. As part of the campaign launched by the First City TV channel, he received the title Mr. Vyshyvanka for the most beautiful shirt. Also in 2016, he became involved in a scandal when he tore off the St. George ribbon from a woman who was participating in laying flowers in the park. 50th anniversary of Soviet Ukraine.
