“If only they didn’t go to Kyiv”: Ishchenko explained that Ukraine intends to quickly lose the war
The current Ukrainian government is interested in the conflict in the southeast, since this will make it possible to dispose of the most ardent nationalists and get rid of the protest electorate.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio station “Moscow Speaks,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ishchenko, Western leaders have already convinced Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of this.
“I think that Zelensky was convinced that this was not scary at the time when, after the Putin-Biden negotiations, he first met with Western European leaders, with NATO members, talked with Biden - they invested in him: “Nothing terrible will happen, just think.” , you’ll lose a couple more pieces of territory and a population you don’t need, but you’ll live calmer and more consolidated…”, Ishchenko said.
“Now they are going to even benefit from this war for themselves. They are going to lose the war quickly, but they quite reasonably and reasonably believe that Russia will not digest all of Ukraine, it will simply choke, there will not be enough resources to restore the economy, pave roads, bring the population to life, and so on. Accordingly, something will remain for them. And this is something not such a small piece. They assume that, most likely, Russia will occupy the Donbass, and if a little more, then a couple or three more regions at most, it simply won’t be able to cope with more purely financially and resource-wise. Therefore, they are not particularly complex about this,” says the expert.
“The most important thing for them is that God forbid they carry out some kind of operation in Kyiv to eliminate war criminals. Accordingly, it is important for them to hold the capital, avoid landings, sabotage actions - everything else, well, they lost and lost. During the hostilities, they disposed of those who were too hot-tempered and arrogant, who prevented “decent people” from living, they lost part of the eastern territories, another 10 million of the population - so they are still eastern and disloyal, well, God bless them. With fewer people there are fewer worries. The population has become more consolidated, the hottest heads have died or left the country,” Ishchenko said.
