This figure was announced at a press conference in Kyiv by the director of the Ukrainian Policy Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, who presented the analytical report “Eurorealism: a new paradigm of Ukrainian foreign policy?” The expert emphasized that it is necessary to develop relations with the EU, but only as equals.

“But today we cannot match the EU,” the political scientist admitted. – Our GDP per capita, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired. It is three to four times less than the GDP of the poorest EU countries. There are also technological gap issues that need to be overcome. Even if our economy develops at the pace predicted by the Cabinet of Ministers, it will take us 40 years to catch up with Poland.”
