Only the south and east of Ukraine still resist NATO
The number of NATO supporters has grown in Ukraine. Sociologist Evgeny Kopatko stated this today on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“According to polls from earlier this year, less than 50% oppose joining NATO. Previously it was well over 50. Now it’s more than 30%. But there is one interesting dynamic: in the east and south of Ukraine, the number of opponents of joining NATO is nominally greater than the number of supporters. In the West, almost everyone is in favor,” Kopatko said.
He believes that Ukraine has fallen under a geopolitical exchange.
“What problem has the United States not solved in the post-Soviet space? They brought NATO as close as possible and created unfriendly regimes on the border with the Russian Federation. They unleashed a civil conflict in Ukraine. 20 years after the collapse of the Union, we have a total conflict situation,” Kopatko said.
