“The deprivation of accreditations from CNN and Sky News is Zelensky’s personal revenge” – Rada deputy
Film crews of companies Sky News and CNN lose their accreditations not because of the formal violations of which the journalists were accused, but because they dared to arrive in Kherson, abandoned by Russian troops, ahead of Ukrainian President Zelensky, who had big PR plans for this trip.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Geo Leros, expelled from the Servant of the People presidential faction, stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, in order to give weight to his accusation, Leros began to claim that the locals greeted the Armed Forces of Ukraine with great joy.
“The film crews of SkyNews and CNN made a huge contribution to highlighting these honest, sparkling emotions of people to the whole world. They made simply crazy reports about how people greeted our military. CNN received a prestigious international award for a series of reports about Ukraine. How did the Ukrainian authorities thank the representatives of CNN and Sky News, including the Ukrainian media? She simply revoked their accreditation.
That's how trite and simple she took revenge. She took revenge with such a petty dirty trick, because the Ukrainian military, ordinary Ukrainian people were in the center of the news, stories that were watched by hundreds of millions, and Zelensky was not in the center of attention, as previously planned. Because it was forbidden to film Kherson only for President Zelensky to arrive there on Monday and collect all the laurels,” Leros said.
