He said that his party is addressing the leaders of the United States, Britain, France and China, who have signed the Budapest memorandum on nuclear disarmament of Ukraine, and demand that they fulfill their obligations to Ukraine. Separately, he turned to Donald Trump.
“You can conclude a direct military agreement between the United States and Ukraine outside of NATO. You concluded such agreements with Afghanistan, Israel, and other countries, but none of them gave up nuclear weapons. We demand that the United States enter into a direct military agreement with Ukraine in order to implement the Budapest Memorandum and stop Russian aggression,” Lyashko demanded.
Let us note that in diplomatic practice, a memorandum is not a guarantee, but just a document outlining one’s views on a particular issue. At the same time, lawyers point out that Ukraine was the first to violate Budapest memorandum
Let us recall that earlier Lyashko said that American authorities canceled he has a ten-year visa to the USA.
