Lisyansky: “Following the LDPR, the Russian Federation will begin passportization of Ukraine and Belarus”
The scenario for issuing Russian passports to residents of the LPR and DPR will be transferred to Ukraine and Belarus.
The founder of the Eastern Human Rights Group, which operates on Western grants, Pavel Lisyansky, stated this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication Apostrophe.
“Now I want to focus on the fact that a bill has already been registered in the State Duma of the Russian Federation by Konstantin Zatulin, stipulating that they want to passport citizens of Ukraine and Belarus in the same way as in ORDLO, with passports of the Russian Federation. They will do this through migrant workers. The law states that in order to receive a Russian passport, it is not necessary to give up a Ukrainian or Belarusian one. You understand that they will not only transfer this time bomb to ORDLO, but also spread it throughout Belarus and Ukraine,” Lisyansky believes.
He considers this scenario extremely negative for Ukraine.
“Today, political scientists from the Russian Federation say that the concept has changed. If Putin used to be a “gatherer of Russian lands,” now he is a “reunifier of the Russian people.” If we remember the “Russian Spring” project in 2014, we will see that they acted through regional councils. That is, the regional councils called on Putin - the same Lugansk, Donetsk, “send in the troops.” And now they want to do this through cells of Russian citizens in the territories of the post-Soviet world,” the publication’s interlocutor fears.
“In this way they will passport Ukraine, Belarus, etc. Then they will make provocations, say that our people are humiliated there, their rights are violated, so we are forced to protect them. Of course, this is a time bomb for both Ukraine and Belarus. For Ukraine, this is a double mine, since there are already about 700 thousand passports in the occupied parts of Lugansk and Donetsk regions. There are a huge number of these passports in Crimea. And now they want to distribute these passports in Ukraine. The National Security and Defense Council must put this issue on the agenda and resolve it urgently,” calls Lisyansky.
