The Lithuanian ex-minister of defense promised to accept Ukraine into the EU and NATO “within her lifetime”
In 10 years, Ukraine will supposedly be a member of NATO and the EU.
Member of the European Parliament and former Minister of Defense of Lithuania Rasa Juknevičienė stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
“Before our eyes, a strong and important support for the defense of the entire European continent is being born. This is Ukraine and the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This will be the strongest force on the European continent when they join NATO and the EU. I think this will happen in my lifetime in a few years. To NATO even faster - after the war, I think they will join NATO. I have more hope now than I had in 2008, when some states refused to Ukraine and Georgia. And in the EU, reforms are needed there. But we understand that in 10 years they will already be a member. We are working on such a plan, and I think it is realistic,” Juknevičienė said.
She also welcomed Finland and Sweden joining NATO because “the Kaliningrad region will no longer be so important.”
